The mother had Jewish roots. The future businessman was one of the youngest children. In total there were twelve of them in the family.

In Russia, he became a student of the Plekhanov Institute of National Economy, which he successfully graduated in 1980.

Telman Ismailov consists in a lawful marriage. He has two sons: Alekper and Sarkan. To date, the children of the entrepreneur are co-owners of the company "AST". In his spare time, Thalmann loves to travel. In addition to Russian citizenship, he is also a citizen of Turkey. He has a favorite hobby - collecting watches.
