Audi A9: nanotechnology in cars
We have long been accustomed to the fact that Audi isnot just Europe's largest auto manufacturer. It's a company whose engineers are not afraid to put into practice the most daring ideas. It is assumed that the exception will not be the new Audi A9. To the existing 8 models from the line "A" will soon add another supercar of the "premium" class. It's hard to imagine, but the length of the new elite car will be more than 5 meters. And if you add to everything else, a luxurious salon, trimmed with rare varieties of wood and first-class skin, is interesting!
History of creation
It is noteworthy that originally Audi A9 Conceptbased on the futuristic Hybrid Sports Sedan Concept. The author of the project and drawings was the Spanish designer Daniel Garcia. It was his sketches that laid the foundation for the creation of the world's first car with the active introduction of nanotechnology. Enumerate all the "chips" of the novelty can be any long time: here and a modern robotic gearbox, and a hypersensitive active suspension, and carbon brakes, and much more. In addition, the owner can change the color (!) Of the car with just one click. Application in the design of nanotechnology allows you to eliminate small scratches and dents on the body without human intervention, which hitherto was not on any car.
Naturally, the model with the above optionswill be sold in limited quantities. For those who want to buy the Audi A9 at a reasonable price will be produced a simplified version of the car in two versions: rear mono drive and Quattro. Both models will be based on the Audi A8 platform. In total, two types of bodywork will be launched: a coupe and a convertible with a convertible top. According to the information provided in the media, the car will be two-door, not four-door, as previously reported. However, to appreciate the idea of engineers, it is enough to look at Audi A9. Photos show that it is more like a modern spacecraft, which makes the car even more desirable. Especially elegant looks the hood and the roof of the car, which seem to merge into one.
According to the representatives of the company, if AudiA9 will be universally recognized, then in addition to cars with powerful six and eight-cylinder engines there will be a "charged" version. It is possible that under the hood the Germans can install a hurricane 6.3-liter W12 engine. If we talk about the power unit in more detail, then there will be several options offered to car enthusiasts:
- a six-cylinder turbo engine with a power of 290 hp. and a volume of 3 liters;
- a six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 211 hp. and a volume of 3 liters;
- engine W8 power of 520 hp and a volume of 4 liters. with two turbines;
- engine W8 with a power of 420 hp with two turbines for 4 liters.
Production for the production of coupes and convertibles AudiA9 will be set up at the plant in Neckarsulm, the official price is not yet disclosed, but according to preliminary information it starts at $ 140,000. And although Audi is striving to take the lead in the market, it is already on its heels that competitors are already on their toes. For example, Mercedes-Benz has already presented its new CL model to the court, and Porsche, Aston Martin and other auto giants will not give up their positions. Serial production of the car is scheduled for the end of 2014 - early 2015.
