Manufacturers of motor oils in the market are verya lot of. The most common products are oil refineries, which also specialize in oil production and production of other fuels and lubricants. It is rare to meet the oils of car manufacturers. One such product is the original Toyota oil. It is easy to guess that this product is primarily intended for cars of the eponymous Japanese brand.

0W30

"Zero" viscosity of the oil of this brand is alsosuitable for gasoline or diesel engines. However, this oil is more suitable for cars that are operated in the northern regions of Russia - it is there that a very severe winter with the lowest possible temperature of air, and the oil will be able to show maximum efficiency.

Lubrication has the API and ACEA approval. On the Russian market, it is not very popular, but it is gradually acquiring it. Judging by the reviews, car owners are satisfied with the quality of lubrication, but they are frightened off by its very high price (about 800 rubles per liter).

5w30 SN

This lubricant on the Russian market is the mostpopular and in demand. It is a synthetic product, corresponding to the highest quality standard by API. The characteristics allow to use it in diesel and gasoline engines with or without a turbine.

A distinctive feature of this lubricant arehigh antioxidant properties, which are achieved through the addition of special additives. It is recommended to use this oil in cars with hybrid motors. In particular, it is ideal for the Toyota Prius. Besides, on many cars from "Toyota" and "Lexus" this oil is used as the first pouring. And the fact that it is used by the manufacturer in the factories, speaks volumes.

However, judging by the reviews, the lack of this lubricantsame is price. If the previous oil cost 800 rubles per liter, which is already expensive, then this lubricant will cost 1,700 rubles per liter. This means that the canister will have to pay about 6,000 rubles. Not surprisingly, many car owners complain about the price, because the oils of other manufacturers are cheaper (about 1,500-2,000 rubles for a 5-liter canister).

Based on testing results obtained by well-known automobile publications, the original Toyota oil with the 5W30 SN index has the following properties:

2. Freezing at -31 ° C.
3. The alkaline number is 6 mg KOH / g.
4. Sulphated ash content is 0.82.
5. Density at an average temperature of 858 kg / m³.
6. The acid number is 1.58.

As analogs of the described product, oils from other manufacturers with the same characteristics can be imagined: Mazda Dexelia 5w40, Castrol 0w20, Castrol Magnetic 5w30, Nissan Strong SM 5w40.

Additives

As for the additives, here the products"Toyota", according to experts, shows low results compared to the oils of other brands. In particular, the composition shows a low value of sulfate ash content and a small proportion of antioxidant substances. Also, there is a high level of contamination, which indicates the poor cleaning properties of the oil. This means that the product can only be used with new and modern engines. Pour it into the engine with a solid mileage and, probably, deposits on the walls of the cylinders is not worth it. Even old Toyota cars require other oils with effective cleaning additives.

Despite all these drawbacks, oil refers tolevel "above average", however, while not falling short of high. But the cost of the product is higher, compared to other oils of well-known brands, which, with better quality, can have a lower price.

Finally

For cars of the Japanese car industry: "Prius", "Camry", "Avensis", "Corolla" original oil "Toyota" fits perfectly. However, it is not recommended to use it on other cars. First, it has a higher price compared to good and, probably, more suitable lubricants from other manufacturers. Secondly, it was developed taking into account the features of the engines of the Japanese manufacturer Toyota. Therefore, in cars of other brands, its efficiency may be low.
