D-243 - the engine that was tested by time

The most popular car of the Belarusianproduction, of course, is the tractor MTZ. But in all the countries of the post-Soviet space, the products of the Minsk motor plant are highly valued, which gave mankind the D-243 - an engine that is distinguished by its power, reliability, unpretentiousness and versatility.

Diesel engine D-243

D-243 is an engine that is adiesel power plant with in-line arrangement of cylinders (all in the engine four cylinders are installed). To control the speed of the crankshaft, a mechanical regulator is used. Cooling is traditionally liquid, without boost.

Most of the popularity due to itsunpretentious motor deserved D-243. The engine is able to operate on low-quality fuel at an ambient temperature of +44 to -44 degrees Celsius.

The main purpose of powertrains -installation on tractors with a thrust class of 14-20 kN. Most often they are equipped with agricultural or industrial machinery, as well as forestry machinery.

But often in the composition of highly specialized machines(power plants series AD, diesel drives PD and pumping units) also include installations D-243. The engines must be provided with the same condition - they can function in the territory with unlimited air exchange.

D-243 is the engine that is recommendedto install on tractors MTZ-82 and MTZ-80, while it must additionally be completed with some elements of electrical equipment, control sensors, oil and water radiators.

Depending on the purpose of the tractor,which is installed by the motor, the unit can be equipped with additional equipment - pneumatic compressors, clutch disc assemblies and other units. This must be taken into account when performing maintenance, and then the D-243 engine does not require repair.
