How to replace?

The radiator is connected to the engine lubrication system through rubber hoses fixed with clamps. To remove the device, you need a key for 12 and a minus screwdriver.

So, let's get to work. First, unscrew the grille and four bolts for securing the heat exchanger plate. Next, open the carabiner wrench with a side shield. We take both items out and put them in a dry place.

Next, unscrew the two bolts that are boltedradiator oil. UAZ continues to stand still. Then take the heat exchanger out of the seat. To finally remove the radiator, proceed to disassemble the hoses. We need a minus screwdriver. Unscrew the clamps - first the upper, then the lower one. Next, remove the tubes from the system. We take out the heat exchanger assembly. The process of installing the element is done in the reverse order. By the time the whole operation takes from 15 to 30 minutes.

When dismantling the element, it is worth considering that the oil temperature in working condition is about 90 degrees.

Therefore, the work is done strictly on a cooled engine. If time does not allow, we make the procedure in fabric gloves. Also pay attention to the moment when hoses are removed. Of these, oil may spill out. To prevent leakage, when dismantling, hold the hoses as far up as possible.

Is it possible to repair the radiator?

The installation of an oil heat exchanger allows repair work in the event of a breakdown.

The holes can be sealed. However, experts note that it is not worth doing repairs on an oil cooler. The repair area may leak again.
