"Wasp" - a pistol for self-defense
Traumatic pistol "Wasp" was created inmid-nineties it is ready by the Institute of Applied Chemistry. The developers set themselves the task of obtaining a sufficiently effective means of self-defense, the wearing and application of which would not contradict the current legislation. As a way of realizing this task, the creation of a unique patron was chosen. According to the idea of the creators of the Wasps, the traumatic effect of the bullet was to be achieved not at the expense of high muzzle energy, but of its mass. This approach made it possible to significantly reduce the strength requirements for weapons while maintaining high combat effectiveness.
Security
The new cartridge allowed to abandon the trunk. His role is played by a long thick-walled cartridge case into which a rubber bullet is pressed. During the shot, the front part of the sleeve provides acceleration and directs the flight of the bullet, and the chamber only holds the sleeve. Actually, the "Wasp" is a pistol, and is classified as "an endless weapon of self-defense". Such a constructive solution provides Ose with increased safety, since it completely excludes the possibility of using live ammunition. In turn, the device of traumatic cartridges does not allow them to self-assemble them. Any attempt to disassemble the cartridge and remove the bullet leads to the failure of the electric capsule and, as a consequence, the entire cartridge as a whole.
The construction of the unbroken weapon of self-defense "Wasp"
Pistol PB-4-1 ML has pairwise locatedfour charging chambers, united in a single aluminum block. The length of the chambers corresponds to the length of the shells, which, as already mentioned above, play the role of trunks. The cartridge unit through the hinge in its lower part is connected to the frame of the weapon. This makes it easy to equip it with cartridges and extract the cartridge shells by simply turning the hinge pin forward and down. In the closed position the cartridge block is fixed with a steel strip. "Wasp" is a pistol with an electric descent, that is, cartridge caps do not operate from impact but from electric charge. By pressing the trigger, a magnesium-pulse generator is activated which supplies an electrical impulse to the cartridge's capsule, after which a shot is fired. The microprocessor integrated in the handle determines the presence of a ready cartridge in the charging chamber, and an electrical impulse is fed to it, regardless of which of the four chamber housings it is in. This ensures a 100% guarantee of the shot after pressing the trigger.
The body of the pistol is made of modernhigh-strength plastic and is able to withstand large shock loads. "Wasp" - a pistol equipped with a laser tseleukozatelem, working on a lithium battery. In addition to the LCU, a simple open sight is provided, located on the upper surface of the chamber chamber. No fuses "Wasp" does not.
Cartridges
The 1997 cartridge was fitted with rubbera bullet with a steel core. A metal core was needed to increase the mass of the bullet and so that it could be detected by the X-ray in the case of a penetrating wound. Such a bullet weighed 8 grams, and muzzle energy at a shot reached 120 Joules. Based on the experience in 2001, the production of new cartridges with a heavier bullet (11.6 g) but with a lower muzzle energy (80 J) was set up. In addition to traumatic, NII PH produces light, light-noise and signal cartridges.
Conclusion
In the time that has elapsed since his firstappearance on the store counter, the growing popularity is constantly accompanied by the gun "Wasp". The price of cartridges is probably the only, but essential minus of this weapon of self-defense. If in a critical situation the efficiency of the cartridge is much more important than its price, then in training it is necessary to consider losses.
