Why does mankind build the largest ships?
Humanity throughout itsexistence has always been inclined to gigantomania, that is, to the creation of structures or any objects of gigantic size. And till now people because of pride and ambition compete in the creation of something most-most - the largest building, the biggest burger, the largest dump truck and so on. And these achievements are all recorded in the very Guinness Book of Records. However, if we are talking about man-made giants, then the biggest ships are very notable in this respect.
On the other hand, the size of the ships is notself-admiration is human, but economic and structural necessity. Ships are divided into military and transport. Transport, in turn, are passenger and freight. In either case, a large ship will carry more cargo or passengers, which is economically advantageous, especially at great distances. In addition, the gigantic size provides the ship more stability, which makes it more safe, although it reduces speed. By the way, the first experience of creating a huge ship ended tragically - meaning "Titanic", then a miracle of technological progress. However, humanity did not stop building the largest ships. And this is not surprising.
The biggest ships in the world are a kind ofthe rating of giant water crafts, and subdivided into categories (depending on the destination). Such a list of record holders is constantly updated due to technological innovations and the ability to build increasingly sophisticated, powerful vessels of enormous size.
