Overflow Valves: Application and Benefits
Overflow valves - devices, thanks towhich maintains the pressure in the system at a constant level. Otherwise they are called overflow valves. In contrast to safety, the liquid or gas in them is diverted constantly. In the safety valve, the pressure in the system is maintained by periodically withdrawing gas or liquid. Structurally, these and other devices are no different.
Application
Overflow valves are used in systems,which require constant maintenance at a certain level of the internal environment. For example, in a car, they are installed directly next to the fuel pump or included in its design. The operation of the valve performs the return of excess fuel to the fuel tank, which maintains a constant pressure in the system. The internal combustion engine is equipped with a cooling system, in which also the bypass valves are installed, thanks to which cooling liquid is returned from the expansion tank to the cooling radiator. Appliances are also used in the boiler room circuits, where they maintain a constant flow of the heat source in the circuit.
Benefits
Bypass valves have a number of advantages:
- simplicity of the device, providing high reliability of the design;
- do not require the connection of additional power supplies;
- do not need maintenance;
- Easily mounted anywhere in the system;
- low cost.
Valves for water
Various firms offer devices,regulating the water pressure up to itself, and also after itself, valves regulating the flow, discharge, safety and air. In heating systems, they are installed on a straight pipeline. At the moment when the water pressure rises to the valve, it opens, and the flow of water is sent through the branch pipe into the return pipeline. If the pressure level in the forward pipeline drops to the level set on the valve, it closes. Its design allows you to change the pressure settings using a special handwheel. Bellows stem seal does not require maintenance. The bypass valve for water is installed in water distribution systems. These devices are characterized by high performance, long life and reliability.
Valves in the compressor
The compressor bypass valve isa responsible element of the design, through which the equipment is normal and without overloading works. The economy of the unit depends on its tightness, so it must be closed in time and tight, have high wear resistance, withstand high temperatures and dynamic loads. There are such types of valves for the compressor:
- Safety valves that are necessary forensure the discharge of excessive pressure in cases where it is above the permissible level. In this case, the device opens, releasing air, and when the pressure drops, it automatically closes.
- Check valves that contain the pressure, so that at any stop of the compressor, do not allow compressed air to flow back into the compressor.
- Unloading (bypass) valves reduce the load on the shaft of the motor at the time of starting. Through them, the high-pressure cylinder communicates with the external environment and discharges excess pressure. </ ul </ p>
