Rattan fabric: ecological and beauty

Rattan fabric is an excellent solution for finishing or coating various surfaces. Its weaving is aesthetic and elegant.

Rattan Palm, from which thismaterial, is one of the longest plants in the world (up to two hundred meters), its homeland is the islands of Indonesia. The barrel of the rattan is thin, with a diameter of five to seventy millimeters, smooth, and it itself runs in the form of a creeper. It uses both bark and the inside of the tree, from which panels for balconies, loggias and bathrooms are made.

Types of rattan

Rattan made panels and canvases. Panels (based on particleboard) can be painted in various colors, toned and varnished. However, they do not need additional protection. The width of natural rattan rolls varies between 600-900 mm. And the length is fifteen meters. If you decide to buy a rattan, but make accurate measurements, since this material is not cheap.

The core of the tree is used for the openworkweaving. It is cut into spaghetti. Different diameters of such noodles allow to use rattan as decorative elements, inserts when manufacturing furniture (chairs, chests of drawers, wardrobes, coffee tables, beds, armchairs) and decorating interiors. The combination of wood and rattan gives the room, decorated in ethnic style, a complete and perfect look.

Artificial cloth rattan in length thirtymeters. Such coatings are made with the use of reinforced kapron thread, cellulose or plastic. The plastic sheet provides thermal and moisture resistance. It is white and less environmentally friendly, it is not intended for covering walls. But from it wonderful screens for radiators of heating turn out.

Paper coating (with cellulose or nylon) is unpainted and white. The first can be toned, painted and varnished.

The rattan canvas is cut with sharp scissors.
The natural coating can be varnished if it is unpainted.
Paper rolls are painted with water-dispersion or acrylic paints in 3 layers.
Plastic linen does not paint.
Fasteners are made with the help of racks and screws.
