Nokia 1280 - phone for relatives
Nokia 1280 - the phone released by the famousa brand for those who do not want to pay for additional chips, but only going to call. This position plus brand quality could not but interest a certain number of people. This phone is not suitable for fans of combines "all in one", but for trips to a dacha or a gift to elderly relatives, it was just right.
The phone has a long-voiced bell, life on one battery, all the functions of a regular phone and in addition a flashlight and radio. The display is black and white, polyphonies and MP3s are not, as there are no expansion cards and access to the Internet. There is a calendar, an alarm clock, a stopwatch.
Layout and configuration
The Nokia 1280 was originally designed as abusiness-solution for calls, so the phone bundle is minimal. In the box is the phone, charging, battery and instruction. For the radio, you need headphones, which the user can purchase separately.
As in most models with radio support,The headphone cable performs two functions - sound transmission and antenna. The headphone jack is on the top side, next to the flashlight. Charging is connected to the left - a traditional solution for the brand in the form of a hole. The lace mount is on the bottom edge, next to the microphone. The layout is thought out, arranged in a practical way, and the build quality is at a high level. Details are adjusted tightly, there are no backlashes, no squeaks.
Appearance and menu
Nokia 1280 has a monochrome display that accommodatesthree lines of text. Above and below there are also two service fields. In the standby mode, you can display the clock. The figures are large, "juicy", are noticeable even without illumination. The backlight is made in a soft blue color, but on the keys it is white. There are almost no dark corners, the entire front panel is evenly illuminated. The rubberized keys, on the one hand, are easily pressed, but on the other hand, you can not be afraid of accidental pressing in your pocket - the keyboard is slightly recessed.
Large font can not be called, older users may need glasses. Like many phones sold in Russia, the buttons have two alphabets.
The menu of the phone Nokia 1280 has no special frills- either by a list or icons that are original for "Nokii". A large button between the call and cancel keys is made by a "swing" and is responsible for additional functions. In the menu you can set the language (Russian is present), ring tones, go to the TF-book, set up the radio. The rest of the functions are collected in the "Organizer" block. The flashlight on the top panel can be turned on directly from the keyboard - by pressing the rocker up. Two modes are supported - as long as the key is pressed or permanently. Continuous light is turned on by pressing it twice.
The result of minimalism was that allfunctions related to USSD, the phone does not understand. The radio does not have auto search. Both the search and the preservation of the wave you like should be done manually. You can store up to 10 stations.
Such different 1280
In the specifications submitted by the developers,Polyphonic ringtones and a call editor for Nokia 1280 are indicated. The instruction, like press releases, confirms this. But in the first versions, which appeared on sale, there were not all. With the editor of melodies in general there was a curiosity. The instructions state that there is a place to save your tunes, but ... the editor himself is NOT! Then the firmware was replaced, and in subsequent sales, there really was a good polyphony and melody editor. Except for this error, the phone is the workhorse. In the early years, the phone was presented only in 4 colors - black, gray with black, blue with black and pink with black. Then the unexpected interest of the beautiful half forced the company to expand the line, and the latest models could be white-black or yellow-black.
Connection quality
For a phone that was planned for a simple call, and even from such a brand, it's kind of indecent to speak about the quality of communication. The phone has a second speaker on the back of the case, quite impressive in size. As a result, the alarm clock, the bell can be heard well, but speaking on it is not very convenient. In the reviews about the phone there were statements that your interlocutor will be heard by everyone around him, except for yourself. Others found the original way out - turn the phone when talking the other side. The standards of Nokia (and not only her) microphone is displayed on the bottom panel, and if you turn the phone - you will still hear.
A little about other parameters
Let us touch on the other parameters of the Nokia 1280 phone. The characteristics are shown in the next screenshot.
These are not technical specifications, but all the basic functions of the phone are listed here. There is no mention of the melody editor.
Conclusion
Despite the austere minimalism of features, Nokia1280 found its fans. And the fact that this version is the only one that had a talking clock, with the press of a single button telling the time without looking at the screen, gained popularity no less than what the previously released models with support for the Internet, MP3, memory cards and other functions inherent in modern mobile phones .
