About the settlement of Ust-Sheksni was mentioned in the 16th century. When Ivan III made a will, he called her Fish Sloboda. The second turbine was launched in January 1942. The third one was launched after the war, the fourth one began operating in 1948, the fifth one in 1949, and the last in 1950. The architects Morozov and Movchan worked on the structure. Now there are 6 turbines.
