Narratives of personal or social phenomenalife, seen and passed through the prism of perception of the author, who put them on paper, are called memories. Often they are also associated with diaries, although there is no element of chronology. Recollection is an event or part of the past that does not affect reality and is stored only "for oneself." Linguists identify up to two main values. In common vocabulary, you can often see its use in the plural. "Memoirs", whose meaning is reduced to the archives of memory and elements of literary activity, is also associated with the past, the analysis of past events and their influence on the present (in psychology). Let's consider two basic variants of interpretation.

1. Mental reproduction of what has been preserved in memory.
Examples:

2. In the plural, the word denotes a literary work, where events are described, of which the author was an eyewitness. Such a statement is also called memoirs or notes.

3. In colloquial speech, one can hear a playful expression: "There is only one memory left", when the speaker means that nothing else is preserved, everything disappeared without a trace.
