An unusual kind of radish is radishdaikon. Having enjoyed great success in Asian countries, it has gained popularity in Europe. This root has a pleasant acute taste, grows to half a meter in length and has a mass of about half a kilogram. Both the vegetable and its young leaves are used for food. Unlike radish, its Chinese counterpart has a less pungent taste, and a daikon salad is simply delicious.
Flesh and root vegetable juice is rich in ascorbic acidacid and vitamins of group B. Also in the composition of the vegetable are soluble compounds of potassium, calcium, iron, copper, sulfur, phosphorus and cellulose fiber. In the leaves of the daikon, calcium and vitamin C are even greater than in its lower part. Traditional healers believe that if you eata daikon salad a couple of times a week, it is possible to significantly reduce the likelihood of oncological diseases, since the vegetable contains isorodic acid ester - a compound used to prevent the development of malignant tumors.

The juice of the plant causes the secretion of bile, which facilitates the digestion of heavy meat foods. In its pure form, it is not very pleasant to drink, so it is better to make a cocktail with orange or apple juice.
Daikon is in demand because of low caloric content - only 20 kcal per 100 g of root vegetable. Therefore, the plant is recommended to be used as dietary food.

Salad Recipes
For cooking, 400 g of root vegetables, 4tablespoons of rice vinegar, 100 grams of fresh cucumbers, a spoonful of sugar, two tablespoons of sake and one - salt. It is necessary to wash, clean and cut the cucumber and daikon with semitransparent rings and salt. The resulting ingredients should be left in a cool place for 10 minutes, then rinse and wait for the liquid to drain. Then mix sugar, vinegar, sake and add the previously prepared mixture. After half an hour the chilled eastern salad from the daikon can be served to the table.
More familiar to a Russian man, a vegetable dish is prepared as follows.
Take 400 g daikon, 50 grams of fat-freesour cream, 350 grams of tomatoes, dill greens and salt to taste. Daikon is cleaned and shredded with thin slices of arbitrary shape. Then add salt and a little sour cream, mix everything and spread evenly into the salad bowl. The washed tomatoes are cut into thin rings and laid over the daikon. Again, everything is salted, the remaining sour cream is added and leveled. On top of the daikon salad decorate with dill branches. Served chilled.

You need 300 g of Chinese root, 100 gripe apples, 150 grams of sweet carrots, 70 grams of low-fat sour cream, a small bunch of fresh dill, 3 to 5 feathers of green onions. The dyke must be cleaned, washed, grinded with a blender or rubbed on a large-mesh grater. Isolated liquid must be drained. Carrots are prepared in the same way. Apples should be cleaned, cut out the core and chopped into cubes. All components are connected, seasoned with sour cream and mixed. Garnished with herbs ready to put salad on the table.
