Religions of the world - Judaism, basic ideas and regulations
Judaism, being a world religion, came to usfrom the Jewish people, at a time when the traditions and ceremonies of ancient Babylon were borrowed and supplemented by Jews. Religion becomes an important part of Jewish civilization and serves as a counterbalance to the process of Christianization of society. Thus, Judaism, whose main ideas are revealed in the unity of God and his union with the Israeli people, affects the life of the Jews and includes historical and national elements.
Thus, the doctrine of Judaism consists of thirteenmoments in which it is stated that God is one, he created the world and everything alive, the prophets were given the wisdom of the Lord, Moses is a mission, a new arrival of the Messiah and the resurrection of the dead are supposed. All these points are in many respects similar to Christianity, however, Judaism does not recognize Jesus Christ as the Messiah. The Jews themselves claim that the Jewish people are endowed with a special mission, which is aimed at bringing the truth to humanity, so God gave the Jews some commandments to accomplish this goal. In total there are 10 precepts of Judaism, which formed the basis of the ancient Bible of the Jews. Four of them reflect the relationship of man and the Lord, the rest reveal the relationship between people. Failure to fulfill these commandments is considered a sin, so a person is punished not only in the afterlife, but in real life.
The rejection of Jesus Christ and the expectation of anotherthe savior in due time became the reason of the state wreck of Jerusalem. After the fall of Jerusalem, Judaism displays its basic ideas in the Talmud, at which time prescriptions arise that the Jew should be approached to God, and his appearance must meet certain requirements. So, the believer must undergo the process of circumcision, wear long hair and a beard. Thus, Judaism, which proclaimed the belief about a single God, spreads the doctrine of the creation by the Lord of man in his image, and his desire to help in the struggle for good.
The doctrines of Judaism are represented in the Torah, a largeattention is given to human behavior, religion itself presupposes freedom of religion. Thus, all Jews express their beliefs in prayer, rejecting the idea of the atonement of sins. It can be said that Judaism reflects the basic ideas in the belief in the immortality of the human soul, in the chosenness of the Jewish people, for Judaism Judaism is a single true faith, based on two ideas: the people's chosenness and its universality. Therefore, it is the religion of one people, the criterion of which is observance of rites and traditions.
Thus, every person whose parents are Jews preaches Judaism, whose main ideas are revealed by the Torah:
- through repentance, that is, compensation for damage, lies the way to forgiveness;
- a person must be faithful to the truth and love other people;
- a person must help his neighbor and so on.
Judaism today does not have temples andreligious organizations, the sacred book of this religious trend, take the Talmud, which includes the Torah, the Old Testament and other religious writings. We can say that the Old Testament is a book that has a huge influence all over the world, because it united two world religions.
For many centuries, the Jewish people sought a way out of the spiritual impasse, it was Judaism that played a huge role in the unity and preservation of the Jewish people.
Thus, in many respects it is similar to Christianity. To date, many Jews are beginning to realize the mistakes of their ancestors regarding the role of Christ in world history and religion, so they still take it as their savior. Judaism official continues to wait for the coming of the Messiah.
