Country style in the interior - simplicity and functionality
Country style in the interior is a wholea constellation of different styles, for example: American country, French Provence, English village and stylization to the Russian hut. All of them have common features, and the differences are due to national characteristics. For example, the Provencal style in the interior always contains a door-window from floor to ceiling with a small crate, and for styling a Russian house uses such interior details as a samovar, poker or a stitch. But all directions share common features: simplicity, functionality, use of natural materials and natural colors in decoration.
Planning and preparation
Identify the general direction of designthe premises that it will dominate: country, safari, decoration in the form of a French chalet or something else. Then draw a general view of the room using all selected colors, decorative elements and furniture - so you can determine which object looks foreign.
Materials
Country style in the interior suggestsuse only natural materials, mainly wood or stone. And do not be too zealous with aging: a noble patina and light abrasions - this is an excellent solution, but do not forget that you will have to live among these things and use them. So, for a floor we choose a wooden board, for walls wallpaper or wooden panels (it will be fine to look lining, but on a small site), the ceiling can be covered with usual white paint.
Color solution and prints
Country style in the interior should not bedecorated with bright, flashy colors. Basis - light colors: beige, milk, coffee with milk, but not dazzling white. The wallpaper, if there is, should be in a small flower, monophonic or striped. Textiles (curtains, covers, blankets, rugs) are also characterized by small floral ornaments, a strip of Scotch. Things made in patchwork style will look good.
Furniture
For such a direction as the rural style ininterior, use a different, slightly rough, practical wooden furniture. Perhaps the use of wicker chairs or artistic forging (legs, chimney tongs, chandelier, etc.).
Decoration
The country style in the interior is notable for its abundancedecorative elements, but it is also characterized by maximum functionality. Therefore, in the room should be a minimum of things that the owners do not use. That is, in the kitchen you can make open shelves with dishes - they will carry a decorative and working function, and Grandmother's chest, beautifully inscribed in the design of the room, will serve as an excellent place to store skeins of thread or fabric cuts. Interesting items for decorating a house are worth looking for in specialized stores or flea markets.
Interesting observation: Modern style in the interior is a mixture of simplified classics and a refined country style (without traditional national decoration). And this means that most people still prefer functionality and simplicity, even at the expense of beauty and sophistication.
